A few of my favorite things #9

A few of my favorite things #9

1. SP Chocnut

Super sized Chocnut!!!
Level na siya, Chocnut now comes in SP size! The Chocnut I used to by comes in a pack of 24 pcs per pack, whereas the SP chocnut is only 16 pcs per pack. It's super "sisik" with the choco-nutty goodness of chocnut but with chewy bits of what I think is nougat mixed inside. Each bar is approx. 2.75 in x 0.75 in big and make for a mouthful of goodness everytime. : D

2. Bread Talk Cakes

Bread Talk's gorgeous cakes in display.

I think Bread Talk makes lovely cakes, just the right "frou" with the the right touch "kawaii" : 3 It's a nice alternative to Red Ribbon and Goldilocks cakes - para maiba naman. Hope to be able to try out all the flavors. Dear, dear, dear... : D

3. Buko Juice

Nothing beats ice cold fresh buko juice.

Sure there are :sanitized" easy to drink buko juices available in tetra packs in supermarkets but buko straight from manong cart is what enjoy drinking best. All the nutrients and goodness of the buko, as well as added "flavorings" from the surroundings makes this the best thrist quencher available on the streets hands down.

What about you? What are you craving for now?

Post below, I'd love to hear about it.

A few of my favorite things #8: Keep Calm and Watch Movies

This is Di Dilights entry to the "Keep Calm and Watch Movies" blog contest.

Growing up I would always look forward to movie nights with my family, my dad would set up his own makeshift movie theatre at home - complete with surround sound, projector screen, and popcorn. We would turn off all the lights, play the laserdisc player, and turn the sound way way up until the windows would tremble and shake at every explosion. Fun times!!!

When asked what movie made me fall in love with watching movies there was no one answer I can think of. And so I came up with my must watch list!

1. Jurassic Park

I'll never look at a glass of water the same ever again.

http://gifsoup.com/view6/2578047/jurassic-park-o.gif

2. Total Recall

The scene where his eyeballs bulge out and almost pop-out will make you speechless.

http://heavyeditorial.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/tumblr_m3td422tac1qc42hdo1_500.gif

3. Fifth Element

This movie was out of this world and advanced for it's time, a visual eye candy feast for the senses. It's comedy will make you laught till your sides hurt and the action keeps you on the edge of your seat.

4. Men In Black

A movie to remember, unless you've been flashed by the shiny light.

6. Mrs. Doubtfire

Getting hot flashes just got a new definition.

But the one that sold me to watching movies would definitely have to be

7. Back to the Future

A memorable, feel good movie!

today my favorite would be...

8. Thor!!!

Sorry Ic! :p (pic from HS Story)

Now, I watch movies with my hubby, he is an avid movie watcher. He watches to destress after a long work
day at work and to relax on weekends. He's the guy who would always initiate a movie night and invite a group of people to watch, esp. when there was a new film out. Scheduling these trips would usually take a bit of effort and coordinating but it's well worth the effort.

Before we would usually call up the cinema, check the newspapers, or go online to check movie schedules. These tools helped us check which theater we should head out to in order to get home as early as possible, as we usually had to carpool home.

GMovies App
GMovies App

Now we need not fret, Globe has come to save the day! You can keep yourself updated with the latest movie screening times and cinemas and where they're showing. Globe has launched a new app to help us stay updated with the current and upcoming movie releases on cinemas nationwide.

It's called GMovies, the ultimate pocket app for your movie fix.

To download, search GMovies in your playstore. Just find the movie ticket pictured app and download it to your phone and you've just gained your golden ticket to the movies - except that it's red and not gold.. :p hhe!

GMovies App
It's your movie ticket to the cinemas!

It's the first and only one of its kind in the country as GMovies allows you to begin your movie going experience anytime, anywhere!

Stay updated with the current and upcoming movie releases on cinemas nationwide, get the best seats and buy your movie tickets straight on your smartphones!

Want to know where you can watch "Transformers" or "22 Jump Street"? Fret not for it's just a tap away.

Open the app, pick a cinema, choose a schedule, choose the best seats available, and click to buy tickets. Just input your email and your credit card details, and you'll recieve an e-ticket - easy as pie!

A Php20 fee that is charged, but the convenience this app gives makes this fee worth paying. Imagine not needing to wait in line, not needing to call the cinema to ask for movie schedules or for reservations, and not needing to pay for membership fees.

You'll know exactly where you'll sit, how much you'll pay, and where and when you need to be there. You'll also have instant access to trailers and preview movies that are coming soon. It's just like booking a plane ticket, but easier! Can't wait to try this out, Ic will be soooo excited!

How you can help: Typhoon Yolanda Relief

In light of the devastation that Typhoon Yolanda has left in the Visayas I urge everyone to pray for the people and situation there. Give what you can and offer what you can. Now is the time to act and to help. I am sure that we will be able to rise up and move forward from this with God's mercy and grace!
Here below are some ways you can help.

Send items via Philippine Airlines

from the  FB Page of PAL

(Updated as of November 12, 2013)

Philippine Airlines will start the free airlifting of critical supplies and relief goods for victims of typhoon Yolanda in the hardest hit areas of the Visayas region following the resumption of operations of some of the affected airports.

The PAL Humanitarian Cargo Grant, which is open to government agencies, SEC-registered foundations, non-profit and charitable organizations will cover the following necessities: medicines, medical supplies, hygiene products; toiletries such as new underwear, and ready-to-eat products such as dried fish and dried fruits, which cannot be readily sourced in the affected areas.

To help ensure the efficient processing and delivery of goods, PAL said that only donors under the said categories, duly-registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, will be eligible to avail of the grant.

To maximize cargo space for these critical necessities, the grant will not include products that are either already distributed by the local government units or available near the calamity-stricken areas. These include canned goods such as sardines, noodles, and bottled water.

PAL will fly the goods on a space availability basis.

Donors only need to contact the PAL Foundation at telephone numbers (02) 851-2980 or (02) 8526090 (telefax) or email palfoundation@pal.com.ph and provide their name, the contact information of the consignee, and a list of the contents of the shipment.

The PAL Foundation will then contact the donors to inform them whether their shipments are eligible for free airlift.
